Replacement Windows : Affinity Elite Windows
Affinity Elite Windows
The Affinity Elite model window possesses all the qualities, features and benefits of industry leading energy efficient windows while maintaining a competitive price. What some companies see as extras or add-ons the Affinity Elite window deems necessary to building a window that a person can be comfortable with having installed in their home. There are certain standard features on the Affinity Elite window that makes is stand out against all other vinyl frame windows:
1. Affinity uses a fiberglass reinforcement bar that runs along the meeting rail of the bottom sash where it joins in the middle with the top sash. This helps to keep the locks aligned after years of sun exposure. In addition, the securing screws are embedded in the fiberglass making the window more secure. Fiberglass is also less conductive than metal reinforcements making the window more energy efficient.
2. Affinity uses magnetic weather-stripping (like on your refrigerator door) where the bottom sash meets the window sill, whereas some companies will just use a bulb-gasket or weather stripping. This allows for a nearly air –tight seal along the bottom of the window.
3. Affinity possess the strongest window frame on the market today. The AAMA DP “design pressure” rating of 65 can withstand a category 5 hurricane. That rating is better than that of Andersen, Marvin and Pella windows.
4. Affinity has concealed tilt latches. Regular vinyl windows have plastic latches on either side of the bottom sash in order to tilt the window in for easy cleaning. Affinity has blended the tilt latch and the window lock into one clean looking unit.
Affinity uses Super-Spacer glass spacing components to separate their double and triple pane windows’ glass. Superspacer is non-metal and drastically reduces the transfer of cold from the outside pane of glass to the inside pane. Most windows in the industry still use metal spacers which transfer cold easily and also transfer noise and vibrations.
